I am a huge kevin smith fan!! Dogma is great but if you are looking for classic comedys with Kevins SMiths great work, then I would go with Clerks first - it kinda sets up the whole series if u have seen Jay and Silent Strike back you will know what I am talking about once you watch Clerks" Then I would get Mall Rats again it all leads up to Jay and silent bob!
Then the next one I would get would be Dogma, its kinda a offshoot of his but is funny as hell!
Then if u want get Chasing Amy, its a great movie but its a more serious comedy!
HOpe that helps, and you really should check these movies out if its just to rent them!

He is supposed to be releasing a new movie this yeat, but from the word on the forums is that it going to be a drama....but we will C. I know Jay has retired from the seen they are not going to be doing anymore movies with Jay and Silent Bob and that just sucks!

Another vote for either Lock, stock & 2 smoking barrels or Snatch, both were freakin hilarious...

I'll second what J Riley said...Lock, Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels...or Snatch.
The Full Monty is a good comedy that I found was a les expensive DVD.
Another good DVD purchase was The Princess Bride...a clasic flick.
