Retic trying to escape enclosure

How do I get him to stop? He has a screen top on top of his cage, and on top of them, I have weights. I'm not afraid of him escaping at all, but I want to make him stop so that he doesn't hurt his nose/mouth area from constantly pushing. I saw a picture of an albino retic before who tried to escape its enclosure, and the thing looked like it had big lips, wouldn't want that to happen to my retic.

You shouldn't have a screen top on a retic enclosure :P Get a new enclosure like a boaphile or a vision cage.

This, a creek top can't hold the humidity they need.
How big is the snake/enclosure

I usually put a damp towel on top of his enclosure when ever he's about to shed. He's about 6 foot long in a 4 x 2 fish tank, I'm planning on upgrading him and my burm to two 8 foot Neodesha Cages when we move, though.

Do you have a hygrometer and thermometer (I mean accurate digital ones). My guess if hes constantly trying to get out, is something is wrong inside and hes trying to escape the death box.

Retics are notorious pushers, caver the whole enclosure with a towel to make it all dark in there, but replace it asap

Re: Retic trying to escape enclosure

Retics are notorious pushers and some screw their faces up regardless of the best intentions and efforts by their keepers. Some of the more common ways to get a retic to stop is a bigger cage, a smaller cage, or more frequent feedings. Try investing in a good cage so you don't have to use a fish tank. You can get a nice 4x2x1 from AP for $150.
