Wanted:african egg eating snake

I am in serious search of an african egg eating snake. Gender is not important and niether is color. I just want a snake that isnt too young and is eating well. I am totally willing to have it shipped. if you know of anyone who might have one for sale or know of a store that sells them please let me know. They seem to be nearly impossible to get ahold of.

First question: Do you have a steady supply of various sizes of eggs from penny size to chicken egg size?

Second question: are the eggs alive?

Third question: Do you only want this snake because you want one that does not eat rats and mice?

Get a garter. Egg eaters are a nightmare.

Ditto. Such animals are cool, but feeding them is a hassle. This is why few people keep ringnecks or mud snakes.

But I imagine you're not up to the task of finding small lizards, worms, and centipedes to feed it.

I have several snakes. Rodents are not why I picked this snake. I have access to ecerything from finch eggs to chicken eggs. My roommate and I also plan on breedinf quail to sell and as a food source. Ive done my research.
I chose egg eaters because they are neat snakes and because I have a passion for reptiles. Im currently working.on breeding both balls and corns and I have kept bredls as well.
I know that theyre not ideal to handle and that they really do eat a lot. I would prefer abpair so I can breed them also but Id like to keep an.individual for awhile to just fet a feel for the snake. People who owm them usually dont have bad things to say. I have read several negative reviews but not one by someone who seemed to own them. Everyone who currently owns dasypeltis medici speaks of how neat and good natured they are.
I just am not having luck finding them.
Yes those were them on backwater but they have been sold out for awhile now.
Ive actually had such bad luck finding them in the US that Ive started searching forums in the UK where they seem to be much more available.

All the forums seem to be so negative. Bashing peoples interests in certain species. Mostly by people who dont have and never had the said species. Dont assume everyone jumps in blindly. When someone comes looking for help you should welcome them to the hobby and support them and let them decide if its something that doesnt fit their lifestyle or not.
Educate without making people feel ******.
I understand most people do come into things ignorantly (trust me I work at a pet store, ignorance on what people want is a day to day experience for me).
Its when they refuse.to listen and are willing to compromise.the animals health just because they want it and dont want to spend the money on it when I get irritated ( thank god i have the right to refuse sale to people who refuse to purchase an adequate set up.)
But this is what you guys love right? Make other people want to share your passion.
It sure dampers my already frustrating endeavor to find one.of these. I saw i had replies and only one person offered help.with what I asked for. Everyone else (with the exception of the guy who hates backwater reptiles and the guy with the rigneck) offered me reasons why i shouldnt get it.

Sarah, I felt the same way initially with the forums. But if spend a bit of time here you will understand it better (seeing the people who really don't know anything who come ot ask questions).

You can't give someone with experience the same advice you give to someone with none, so the level of experience has to be known first. And most of the people who don't know anything, try there best to hide it. Think of it as an initiation / hazing, after that its smooth sailing. I hope that made sense, and we do mean well, but if we had the attitude you wish to see as a new member, we would be sending alot of first time keepers home with retics and anacondas.

I dont believe in bans in those big snakes. Just since mentioned the retics and anacondas. But I support the need for a permit for them. We have that here in Lubbock and it helps weed out the people who arent serious and educated about the animals. My ball python breeding neighbor has the nicest burm in the world but bit him with a feeding mistake. A bite from an 11 foot burm is quite a bite and especially when it mistakes you for food. Someone lacking experience could have gottwn hurt a lot worse because they wouldnt have known what to do. John left with a black hand and a totally healthy, though frustrated snake. A local pet shop here has a yellow anaconda. Though I have heard theyre much more gentle natured than greens, thats a huge snake to be selling.for 200 bucks.

Anyway enough of a rant. I appreciate you explaining I am just really frustrated by my inability to find even one of the egg eaters. And no one anywhere except the backwater guy has had any help to give. And I had known backwater was sold out. Why are they so rare here. It seems theyre rare in the.uk to but not nearly as much so. I read accounts of people picking.them up at pet stores in the ulUS but I have spoken with our local pet stores and no one even knows what they are. And I really dont have access to reptile shows. We got our first repticon here a month or two ago and it was ten vendors in size. Several them being our local pet stores lol.
