Re: retic pee
snake pee is stinky stuff mate.....
personally i would shampoo the carpet a few times, until the smell goes away...
if it don't go away, then it may have sunk into the floorboards, which imo would require a good scrub (with the carpet lifted)
cheers shaun

Re: retic pee
Maybe try some of that Resolve Carpet Spray for Animals I think it is called. Has not ever discolored my carpet and freshens it up. Good luck

Re: retic pee
Good luck... retic pee is strong stuff. Some of it got onto my floor, had to sand it down and re-varnish it to get it to look nice again.

I would try that too. Works great for our dog messes and no discoloration.

Re: retic pee
I think if it's coming out of a carpet python, you need to check your snake breeders again!!!!

Re: retic pee
thanks for all the replies. and yea i have been able to make the smell less strong (if that makes sense) by doing a little shampooing but i suppose i will have to try it again. she didnt even catch my carpet that bad before i got her in her cage where she could finish up her business but it was very strong smelling.

Re: retic pee
If its an option for you in your snake room I would just remove the carpet altogether and replace it with tile or an epoxy like you can put down in your garage that doesn't absorb liquids.

Re: retic pee
great idea miller! but that will have to be in the future because i still live with my parents and getting the snake was a battle in and of itself so a snake room isnt an option =(. someday though i will have a snake room in my house lol.

Get those cheap plastic mats for toilet training puppies, a buddy of mine does that and it works great. Have a mess? Just take it outside and hose it off.
