Pacific gopher snake vomits?

On thursday, I fed my ~2 ft long pacific gopher snake a mouse that was slightly too big, I didn't realize it was that large until the snake had already swallowed it. He swallowed it easily and for the next few days the lump was shrinking and all was fine. But when I woke up this morning (sunday) I found what looked like the hide of the mouse with nothing in it, it was gray. I'm wondering if this could've been caused by the mouse being too big. Or perhaps it is because I've had a very tough time keeping the temperatures up and they usually sat around 80 ok the warm side rather than 85. What should I do about this? Wait another week and feed something smaller, and if it happens again take him to the vet? Thanks.

I thought I'd add that the snake is acting completely fine, he's lively and alert.

Can we see a picture of the "hide"? Hard to say what it is without seeing it. If it ate it easily as you say then the mouse wasnt too big.

What problems are you having eith the temps? What heat source/theermostat/enclosure type are you using?

I already threw it away, it seemed to just be the fur and a bit of the skin, nothing else came up. I use a lamp and my house seems to have gotten cooler and I wasn't getting the temperatures that I would have liked. I'm sorry that I can't describe the vomit better, it just seemed to be bile and the gray remnants of mouse skin and hair.

Your description is really to vague to make any accurate guesses but I would feed again on regular schedule a slightly smaller rat/mouse (mine eats anything) and see what happens. Failure to eat or a repeat of this may indicate something but if all is normal I would ignore it. If it happens again get us some pics of the snake and it's barf

Also fix any heat issues asap.

Do you feed live? Ever feed live? The only thing I can say it sounds more like a decayed rodent to the point of no more liquid inside.

A regurge smells awful and is just a bunch of soup really. Usually takes place right away or if there's not enough heat to allow for proper digestion.
