Sam the "Red Tail Boa"

A local reptile keeper was rehoming a few of her animals and I got this 2012 beauty for free. I've wanted a Colombian BCI since I started keeping snakes... Finally after 7 years, I've got one of my own. She was at the vet a few weeks ago and checked in as a healthy female although she's got a bit of a problem with mites... She's in quarantine now and is being treated to get rid of the little a-holes.

I love her tail.

Re: Sam the "Red Tail Boa"

Mites shouldn't be a problem as long as the snake is otherwise healthy. As much of a pest as they are, they are not that hard to take care of as long as you don't spread them.

Re: Sam the "Red Tail Boa"

Thanks. I haven't had to deal with mites in years... Ugh, they suck. And the thought of them makes me itchy. ):

Here she is after another bath. She's been very patient and well behaved. Poor girl
