African Rock Python Hunter

This guy is wacked out in the head. How does anyone crawl in a hole with limited space knowing there is a huge python inside.

When your baby is crying from not eating, your wife is sick and you live in a hut, man will do ANYTHING to take care of them.

I wouldn't say the man is crazy, just driven... driven to take care of his family.

Considering there are people on this continent that won't even sit their beer down to go change a diaper, I would say this guy is a top dad.

Well said, Wayne. Its all about perspective. We see a large aggressive snake. That man sees a sizable meal.

Re: African Rock Python Hunter

Maybe he makes more money selling it? I dunno...I'm not in the situation, so I tend not to judge too harshly.

Re: African Rock Python Hunter

If you listen to the last bit of what the man says on the video he clearly states that this catch will be enough to provide for the family for quite sometime.

I agree with Wayne.. If that is the only way you can take care of/provide for your family you do it.

Not that lucky, they would get more money if they did.

The leather processing will buy the hide, they will tan them and sell in quantity to the purse people.

They do the same thing with lizards, but at the same time, we do it with cows, sheep, goats, bears, you name a species, someone has tanned the skin somewhere.

Totally agree, we cant judge other civilisations by western principles. The guys using cobras with their mouths sewn shut to entertain tourists, those catching wild reptiles for OUR pet trade - the list goes on and on.

But at the end of the day if i was in the same situation with the same money constrai ts and opportunities i would be doing the same thing to feed my family.

Re: African Rock Python Hunter

I don't think wacky just brave but its like bear hunters the risk is great but they are very skilled at what they do. If they do it all the time, they won't batter an eye lid. I bet the apprentice who does it for the first time is bricking it tho. Lol
