Am I ever going to see my snake again?
I know they're nocturnal and a little shy, but I guess I was hoping for SOME activity. My 6 mo. old BRB has taken to digging into the substrate under the water dish and pretty much living there. I only see the occasional sign that he's been out exploring overnight.
Is there any chance that I'll see him more as he grows older? I'd hate to think I have this awesome viv setup for a gorgeous snake just so I could stare at Reptibark and coconut husk.

He should become more active as he gets bigger and isn't able to hide under the water bowl anymore!

He will grow, and unless you have loads of substrate you will see him more and more often. As he grows his confidence will also rise, the Brb I had always hid as a baby, then as he grew he spent more and more time off the ground and in his water bowl, that being said, they really do like burrowing and it helps keep them hydrated so its best to keep it available.

Re: Am I ever going to see my snake again?
Brb's are a shy species and you won't see a lot of them.. The best time is late at night with the lights off. When I'm watching tv I always see my sasha out and about, but if she senses movement she will hide again.
How's your set up? I've noticed that if the humidity drops then my brb will burrow into the moist substrate. Are you misting the enclosure or monitoring the humidity?

Thanks all. I look forward to the day I don't have to lift the big water dish just to find him.

My adult male will come out as soon as the sun goes down for a bit, either on top of his hide or just outside his hide. There is the rare sighting during the daytime, but that is usually once in a blue moon, lol.

Brb are very secretive animals they prefer to hide

Re: Am I ever going to see my snake again?
Mine are generally hiding as well, but I'll see them out and about around dawn and dusk sometimes, and occasionally at night.

I would echo the "dusk and dawn" theme, especially if the light in the room is matched to that same schedule. Mine come out at those points all the time, and often late at night as well.
