I wouldn't worry about it. I never really have a problem in the shedding area either. Although every single shed I am sure to bath for 45 mins in warm water 1-2 days before shedding until he does shed in addition to misting the cage down. I feel it aids a lot in the loosening of the skin

try it next time if you still have a problem

Simple; 80% isn't high enough during a shed cycle.

guess I'll try higher humidity, but it was the exact same as last time, and last time he shed perfect

It can be used at the first signs of RI too. I discovered this stuff when I owned my shop. Sometimes the animals that came in weren't the healthiest and I refused to sell anything that was unhealthy, but I needed a super affordable way to help these guys out or else I wouldn't be able to turn profit.

Try raising ambient to 80, dropping the hotspot some, and feed smaller meals until the next shed.

What does smaller meals have to do with anything?

dropping the hotspot they won't be able to digest meals as quickly, just a precaution.
