Best time to look

I have been looking for a canebrake rattlesnake and either my timing has been off cause I haven't seen one. Or im looking to early in the day I just wonder which one im doing ive looked before then sun has set but not after before.

I, personally have only found one canebrake and that was when I was young, but all of the rattlesnakes I've found over the past 20 years have been at night......

Most of the people I know who have found timbers/canebrakes in the wild have also found them at night, either road-cruising or otherwise.
