Margaret my Hog Island Boa (Pic Heavy)
Hi Guys,
As promised here are some pictures of Margaret my Hog. She is a 2010 CB hog. I accurately measured her today and she is 4' 3" long and weighs 2.2kg.
Please let me know what you think. She is so awesome.

Re: Margaret my Hog Island Boa (Pic Heavy)
It looks hog to me.
That pic you posted made her look dark grey in the other thread.
I'd say 4 feet 3 inches is a good size for an early 2010.

Re: Margaret my Hog Island Boa (Pic Heavy)
I am a little worried about her at the moment as she has not pooped since I have had her. I think she may be constipated. I really hope not though.

Re: Margaret my Hog Island Boa (Pic Heavy)
make sure she has plenty of fresh water , i have noticed my hog will not touch water that is more than 24 hours old. sometimes he doesnt poop or a month , on a once a week diet too. You can always to a lukewarm water 80F soak for 30 minutes , it some times can cause them to go but dont make it too hot. how long has it been ? and what do you feed and how often? for that girl i would likey to a small to medium rat every 14 to 20 days.

Re: Margaret my Hog Island Boa (Pic Heavy)
How old Is your Hog Tekpc? Also what size and weight is he? I feed a medium rat every 7-10 days as advised by the breeder. She pooped when she shed around 3 weeks ago. She has not however gone sine. She has a large water bowl in her Viv and I change the water daily.
I gave her a soak tonight for 30 minutes so I am hoping that will get things moving along nicely.
Her substrate is Aspen but I always feed her on a large plate so she doesn't ingest any. I am paranoid about that.

He looks really awesome mate. Maybe I will feed Margaret less often then. I don't want to over feed her. I just wish she would take a dump!

Re: Margaret my Hog Island Boa (Pic Heavy)
don't worry , its not uncommon for them to only got once a month or 6 weeks or so. Maybe after the next feeding or 2 she may go . i have missed poo before , sometime sit gets buried in the aspen and shrinks and you never see it till the next time you replace maybe. if she started to swell near her vent and does not poo after the next 2 feedings i would have a vet check her. You should try for the lower feeding schedule since you are not breeding , 14 day or so is fine . i will some times even skip a meal , in nature food is not regular and it helps with feeding response too. it does them good to get exercise and hunt around the tank . they will proccess food more effectivly over time if fed less often , also less poo.

Re: Margaret my Hog Island Boa (Pic Heavy)
Mine go along time without pooping to my male goes a month sometimes. If its the right size meal their bodies probably absorb most of what they ate!

Re: Margaret my Hog Island Boa (Pic Heavy)
Ok guys. Thank you for your responses. I will feed her less often I think. I'll drop it to 10 days for a while and then switch to 14. How cool you three have siblings. It's a pitty you are not UK based otherwise we could breed yours with Margaret in a couple of years time!
I'll monitor poop situation. I feel more relaxed about it now.
