thinking bout getting some new additions
I am looking at getting 2 bp from a Craigslist ad. 1 is suppose to be like 3yrs or so and the other is about a yr younger. i have a few questions about their size and how they are housed now. I don't think they are big enough to be that old. They are being feed every 2 to 3 weeks. 2 live mice each. they are both in a 50 gal aquarium. It has a sand bottom. on 1 end it has a heat pad under the sand. also has a heat light. screen top. over the heat pad is a rock hide. it has a temp tape, i don't think it works. any help would be great.

Re: thinking bout getting some new additions
I would wait until you understand taking care of just one..you need to focus on getting her healthy before you overwhelm yourself. Trust me, there's plenty of time to add to your collections, especially normals. Those two are VERY skinny, with a prominent spinal ridge, and you don't know anything about what could be wrong with them (RI, parasites, bad eaters, etc).

+1. If you have one at home recovering then I would agree with IBaman. They are already plenty skinny and not eating enough at their age. This also opens the door for other issues they may not be aware of or even telling you. Second you would need to get a whole new setup as its not great to keep them housed together and that's going to cost a bit more as well

Re: thinking bout getting some new additions
Anything from Craigslist is like buying a used car from a used car lot. Occasionally, you'll get that good deal but more often than not, you're buying someone else's headache. Make no mistake. It is buying and selling on Craigslist btw. Anyway, you need to understand what you're about to do is a rescue judging from the pics. If you can pull it off, more power to you.

This is the way to go IMO. Just avoid Craigslist if at all possible.

I agree, pass on them.
However, neither of them look skinny.
They both look outwardly healthy.

+1. Their enclosure isn't ideal and their diet is just very much a maintenance diet but from the pics they look okay.

also. they will come with another 30 gal tank. i am not liking tank set ups. after putting that bp in a rubbermaid type container, i will be switching all of them over to this type

Your heart is in the right place and I don't doubt that you could take care of this snake or any other bit I must repeat this and this comes from personal experience. Craigslist = BAD!!! Most snake purchases from Craigslist come with a long list of problems.
