The person with the iguana sounds like someone that impulse buys an animal then sells/trades it when the novelty of it wears off looking for the next "cool" thing. I greatly dislike people like that and never get animals from them because it just enables them.

i noticed when i went to get crickets, they are selling both Savs and iggys at animal house pet store out here... savs are like 69.99 and iggs are 100 or something... Savs are on sand in a tiny fish tank and iggs are in a 20ish gallon fish tank... wouldnt be surprised if that's where they are from.

I would have them send pics of the monitor and the enclosure, because I highly doubt that monitor has a good enclosure for only $150. An adult sav needs at least an 8x4x4 enclosure which you most likely not be able to get that for so cheap.

If it were a non screen top wall sized fish tank that has reinforced sides and bottom then it might work.

I see monitors and stuff all the time on craigslist with people saying that there 2x2 cage will last them their entire life or this is a rare savannah monitor that the stores dont sell. Most of these people buy the baby savs for 15 dollars each then try selling them and a small fish tank for like 400.

Have seen a few savs on CraigsList in my area. Don't even bother readng the ad. I know there is no way I could take them so try to avoid depressing my self further.

ya I do occasionally see a good keeper who obviously knows what they are doing but that is rare.

I asked hubby he said for me not to even respond to the add because we will end up not being able to say no. We had Harley dumped on us by stupid people and it has taken a lot of time effort and money to get him healthy and provide him with the proper things he needs. I wouldn't be able to help this monitor and I'd just feel guilty. Plus after all the work it's taken to get him healthy. I'd hate to upset him by adding another reptile.
