Need help with crested gecko
Hi, I am new to the forum and need some help here. We've got a Crested Gecko about a year ego. He’s been doing fine until about 5 days ago. I’ve noticed that he is not active, basically doesn’t move at all. His skin looks normal and I don’t see any signs of distress. Yet I don’t think he is pooping much ( or at all?) and 3 night ago I fed him his favorite mealworm with calcium and he didn’t eat a single one. I spoon-fed him some banana the next night and tonight I spoon-fed him banana mixed with Repashy Superfood that he normally eats. He ate about a 1/2 -2/3 of the tea spoon. I also haven’t seen him shad for at list 2 month now. Today he looked kind of week, one of his legs was hanging down and it looked like he was going to slide down. When I handled him he was running up my arm as he’d normally wood. What do you think is going on?

Re: Need help with crested gecko
Can you tell us what his set up is like? And his Diet? Not seeing them shed really isn't a concern...they often do it at night and eat it so we don't even know that it happened. But sounds like he could have some signs of MBD, but really can't say with out more info. How about a pic too?

Re: Need help with crested gecko
Geckos eat there shed after they are done so you won't know when he has shed. Also the no movement in the one leg might be a sign of Mettabolic Bone Disease. (MBD) Also he might be pooping you just might not be able to see it. Sometimes when they don't eat as much there poops are really small. Also with the not eating much Repashy. It is pretty hard to tell how much they are eating because they barely eat anything.

Re: Need help with crested gecko
Well he is still not interested in food. This morning I found in his water something that looked like an egg, but when I transferred it in a plastic bag it was very soft, more like poop but very big and grayish-brownish color. Not the normal white. (Picture attached) Is he constipated and why? There was no diet change.
I bought some fresh worms today, but he is not interested. As I handled him today he passed a lot of water but no poop.
On the pictures you'll see that his abdomen looks normal and so do his eyes. Look also at his back leg just hanging there. When I placed him on the table he walked just fine, no limping or wobbling.

Re: Need help with crested gecko
Yes we just realized that it’s a she but my son doesn’t want to hear that. : ) He/ she eats Repashy superfood and meal works sprinkled with calcium. But we were on vacation for two weeks and my father took care of him. He only gave him the superfood.

Re: Need help with crested gecko
Repashy should be fine all on it's own, you really don't need to feed anything else. But maybe skip the meal worms and feed a few crickets instead.

Re: Need help with crested gecko
Ohhh and skip the green carpet too. Try Eco earth. Much better.

Re: Need help with crested gecko
We’ve tried Eco earth but it was hard to take care of. The carpet we wash and change every week or two. My son insist in keeping the gecko in his room and I don’t want any odors as with Eco Earth.
Do you think on the picture that was a big poop that he passed?
