When Hog Islands ruled...
... the world! Or at least the Boa Constrictor forum on sSNAKESs!!! Totally loving all the beautiful Hoggies posted on this site lately, so I figured Pebbles should join the party. Again, sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, as they truly don't do her justice. Anyway, Pebs is a 10 month old Hog Island produced by Howard Leong in Northern California. She's about 3' long, and a very sweet and healthy girl, eating one small rat every 14 days. Great snake, and an absolute joy to keep.

Re: When Hog Islands ruled...
I was looking forward to seeing pics of your girl, and wow, she is beautiful. I love her speckled belly. Your photos are fine, whether they do her justice or not, her beauty still shine through. Hope to see more of her...

Re: When Hog Islands ruled...
Thank you all for the nice comments. When I got back into boas last year (I had a Peruvian Pucallpa BCC many years ago), I really wanted a slightly smaller snake, with beautiful coloration and a sweet disposition. Well, I couldn't have made a better choice than a Hog Island.

Yes, Alessia, she's a real sweetheart. Although she has an amazing feeding response, she's never hissed, struck, or otherwise taken a truly defensive posture toward me or anyone else, for that matter. I also love the fact that she's very curious, but still slow and deliberate like boas tend to be (except when striking/coiling to feed! ). Anyway, yes, she rocks! And yes, you NEED one!!!!
Thanks again for all the kind words.
