Wow, thats a great job! Beautiful detail and you can tell it must have taken you a long time. Ive never seen someone paint the background last before, thats an interesting technique.

I have oil pastels, but I'm scared to use them lol. Strangely enough, I've only been brave with water color and pencil sketches...
This thread also reminded me that I really need to finish my sketch that I started a year ago... facepalm

I find it easier to do the background last if I'm using Oil Pastels for the entire painting.
I think it's easier to do it first if you are going to airbrush a background first with watercolours or something. I don't have an airbrush so...yeah! :P
