PA folks, SAY NO TO H.R. 1398!!
Now it's 6 states UGH!!!
Someone on another forum posted this.
Quote:
Same story guys. Herps are not specifically singled out, but the wording is ambiguous enough that they are effectively banned should this pass. The law can be read here:
The Pennsylvania General Assembly.
Oi. Good news is there are only 49 states this kind of junk can be proposed in. (HI already bans most herps).

I completely agree with Hawaii banning them. Hawaii is an island paradise and since many species would thrive in that environment I can't blame them for not even wanting to take the chance that something would escape or some idiot would set them free. Florida I feel is sort of the same way, even if it is only the extreme southern end that is in any real danger.

What kind of frigging snake is going to pose PA wildlife a threat when it's 30 some degrees out right now and was in the teens a week ago....

I posted this to my facebook, but I couldn't find the bill on that site. I can't believe this, I just got into this hobby last year and have loved reptiles my whole life.

Every single state is probably going to try it.

there are a large number of states that have already gone through this battle, some won, some lost, I thankfully live somewhere that won.
