Exclamation Regurgitation Help!!!!

Ok so yesterday I bought crickets and superworms but the guy screwed up and gave me extra small crickts. That was a huge problem but I could do nothing about it. So yesterday I decided to feed him a bunch of superworms. This morning I saw her regurtitating undigested ones. Other than not feeding her any what should I do? Is she in danger of dieing? I thought she was big enough...

Re: Regurgitation Help!!!!

How big is your dragon first off? I wouldn't mind seeing a picture of her just to get an idea of her size. I haven't had to experience a dragon reguring so i'm not sure if its similar to snakes in the sense that it causes them a lot of issues.

I would say a vet visit myself just encase anything is wrong to cause her to be sick, a fecal would do even. Maybe wait a bit, bath her and try to get her to flush her system so anything else left in their wont continue to upset her.

I would direct you to someone I know that would be able to help you immensely on this but she isn't on this forum so I'll wait to see what others have shed.

For now think about the fecal, wait a day or two and then try feeding her small amounts of smaller food. Possibly just veggies for a bit to make sure she isn't going to regur them too.

Re: Regurgitation Help!!!!

I would ask this question on beardeddragon.org I think you'll get more answers than here.

Re: Regurgitation Help!!!!

Double check you temps and make sure she has a proper basking temp to digest, 105+ surface temp. Has anything changed around her? surroundings? have you changed anything else besides the diet? I would leave her alone for a day or too, make sure she is getting plenty of heat. Try to offer a little bit of water through a dropper (drop it on her nose and she should lick it up.

Thank you so much I will take your advice and I can do a fecal exam myself (im a science junkie) but I will definitely make an account on beardeddragon.org and ask there.

Update-I just got home and there are a lot more everywhere and some half digested crickets from saturday.

Yeah I would deff talk to Tracie, and look into getting a fecal and as stated by Spooky look into your temps, could be that it might be too hot causing her to not want to bask, or not hot enough where she isn't getting enough heat to digest. Other then that it might be something upsetting her stomach on a more serious side.

Re: Regurgitation Help!!!!

I have come to the conclusion that my husbandry is fine and a fecal is not necessary (though I still want to do one because like I said im a science junkie just have to find an extra 150 for a new microscope because i dont like the one I have...) but that 13 inches was to small for supers. I must have remembered 13 instead of 16 but whatever. Tomorrow she will go back on her regular diet and if she regurges that (she probably wont) then I will have a problem.

Wouldn't you rather have a second opinion encase you over looked something. I would think you would rather be absolutely sure everything is fine instead of letting your dragon have to experience that again in order to get the problem fixed.

Minimum size for supers is 16 inches. She was thinking 13 by accident so they were too big.

Re: Regurgitation Help!!!!

Im a he and what do you mean by second opinion? There is a possibility I could miss something but that would mean th levels were so low it would not do any harm. Tracie also backs me up on this.
