Iowa, anything over a certain length is illegal, anything that approaches that they have to take a handling class IIRC.

man thats mental, i suppose it makes sense in a way and stops just anyone gettin hold of something that takes alot of responsability but it is persecuting the good keepers out there. I take it hots are illegal there too?

That's my understanding yes.
Cross the river into Nebraska and everything is legal.

I live in Des Moines, Iowa. The snake laws are a patchwork depending on what city you live in. Iowa itself only bans Anacondas, Retics (yes even the SDs), Rock Pythons and venemous snakes. Des Moines has a 6' limit unless youre able to take a 20 hr class and get a permit, which I have.
