Re: che covers?

Coated wire sounds like abashed idea to me.

Re: che covers?

ok thanks for the answers only two questions now... if i do make my own with stronger wire that has 5mm squares but is wire that takes a lot of force for me to bend, could i paint it a different color via spray paint ect. or would the heat set off the fumes? and also wont the bare wire get really hot still causing the snake to get burned?

Re: che covers?

The steel will absorb the same amount of heat as the plastic I think. As far as spray paint goes I had a 250 watt heat bulb on top of my powder coated steel top and it started burning it. I think it all depends on the wattage of the bulb cause my 100 watt bulb doesn't do that.

Re: che covers?

I would only paint it with high heat BBQ paint. 12 oz. Flat Black Specialty High Heat Spray Paint-7778830 at The Home Depot
Also after the paint dries heat it up out side with either a heat gun or your BBQ to burn off the new paint fumes. Once you have done that it should be all set and last you a long time.

Re: che covers?

The guards i bought that are designed for the job get fairly warm but not overly hot.
