Water snakes here are the most bity snakes around. I've been bitten by a 3 footer and it hurt. It wasn't as bad brandonh's bite but yes they are very very aggressive

also i think they are most common snake in my area because of having a major river running right through the city. its nothing to see 3-4 basking in the sun in one spot.

Well, after 7 plus years of owning snakes, it has finally happened, my very first bite, lol. I was reaching in to remove one of my adult male Dodomas to clean his enclosure, and whammo! The little bugger got me on the middle finger
gotta admit, it did sting!
