Keeping the heat and the huminity

I covered half the tank with a towel to hopefully help with the heat and huminity! Is that ok to do? Or am better of to use something else? Btw it's for a ball python

I keep a towel on top of both of my bp's cages on half of their cages. It definitely helps me with humidity. You can also seram-wrap (that plastic material that you use to wrap food or whatever) half the cage to keep humidity in. Both ways work. Just don't seal the whole cage since you do want trap all the air in completely.
If you don't already, it might help to use repti-bark as substrate since it holds humidity in quite well too.

Right now I am using aspen as it was given too me (a brand new bag) I will change to repti bark once I change her cage
How wet to I need to spray her cage?

you should probably invest in a hydrometer and a thermometer.

I used aluminum foil and cut a hole in it for circulation.

The humidity should be min 55% upto 65%, when the BP is in shed you want it up to 75%.

I spray mine in the morning up to about 70% and it "dries" to 55% over the next 24 hours ready for the next spraying. In shed i make it upto about 85% and it dries to 60%

Why would the specific gravity of the water bowl be important??
