out of curiosity, how old is this boa?
|
She is about 11 months old, and way smaller than she should be. My male who is about 4 months younger than her is noticeably larger. But she is a voracious eater, and I can guarantee she will catch up in size under my care!
Haha, 6th sense is right!! I don't know how the breeder captured her pink so well:

Re: My new Hypo Jungle :)
Oh, and I should add - after feeding her a rat pup (which she gobbled up like a pro), her poop doubled in size...I am pretty sure she was being underfed, at least in terms of the prey item size

Re: My new Hypo Jungle :)
its hard to say on the whole size thing. i have 2 '06 females from the same litter, one is 6' 12lbs the other is 8' and 17lbs, but theyve been on the same feeding regimen for 5 years now.
that jungle is going to display some sweet adult colors, can't wait.

I can’t wait to see how she turns out as an adult too - and thank you! I will be sure to provide updated pics as she grows.
With regards to the difference in growth rates from snake to snake, I have heard this is common, so maybe I shouldn’t worry about it. I did get her from a reputable breeder, so I really shouldn’t doubt that she was being fed enough, she’s probably just been a slow grower. Do you have pics of your snakes in the forum somewhere?

I know the feeling, I'm trying to build up my will power now....going to an expo in Lafayette on 9/10 and then Repticon in October. Lord, please give me the self discipline to not come home with anymore pets right now!!!! We'll see if that works or not, lol !!!
