Morphs (newbie help?)

I'm trying to learn more about morphs. I've visited a few sites and seen dozens of pictures, and but im still having trouble understanding and determining the differences.

What the difference between a normal and a pastel?
How can I visual spot a normal?
What would be the Cheapest non-normal to purchase?
Hets are just normals with quiet morph genes right? Should a non-breeder be concerned about this?

Most of the time normal is a good bit darker.. Pastels are lighter, ive seen some rather dull ones though..

Visually spotting a normal is pretty easy look in the mainstream pet chains. There darker in overall all appearance.

Probably a pastel.. Shop around and you can find Spiders, Mojave's, at similar prices.

No not if you dont plan to breed its not important.

Re: Morphs (newbie help?)

there are most of the morph BP's

the difference between normal and pastel is the the pastel is more yellow looking but a lot of pastels will "brown out" when they get older but will not looks as dark as normals.

pastel

normal

if your not breeding you dont have to care about hets but hets will cost more most of the time.

and the cheapest would be males and im not sure about the cheapest morph i would think pastels

SO no real design change between Pastel and Normals...just brighter color on pastels...

What would you pay for a young male pastel?

Re: Morphs (newbie help?)

i seen some at low as 100 but you can get them most of the time around 150

look here you can find a lot of different morphs
Kingsnake.com Classifieds > Ball Python Classifieds

and there are a few shows come to NC i would go to them first because you can find some really good prices and you dont have to pay for shipping.
