Re: These guys look amazing!!!
I don't think the mud snake is, but the first is for sure.
The mud snake used to be a colubrid but now it has its own class.

Re: These guys look amazing!!!
I've worked with hots in the past (privately owned and wild), gotten tagged by a few. I wont be owning one anytime soon.
If it turns out to be a hot I'm smart enough to know that waiting until I'm ready is the road I will take.

Re: These guys look amazing!!!
Looks like the only place you can get them is that Crystal Palace Reptiles in the UK. Altho they arent listed on the site for sale anymore.
Everything Iv read suggests they are painfully rare. And likely not legal to import into Canada. This guys blog is the most info in one place I could find. Dragon Snake? | Snakebuddies' Blog

That and I'm allergic to CroFab, so I need to stay away from certain venomous snakes entirely.

Re: These guys look amazing!!!
The dragon snake looks very similar to the West African file snake- Mehelya poensis. Those arent' too bad to keep. I've had a pair of poensis for over a year now, and they are both eating, shedding and thriving. They require a lot of humidity, but you have to let it dry out once a day so they don't get blisters from moisture. They're neat, very friendly little snakes. Outback Reptiles gets them in every now and then. Pretty much all Mehelya are going to be wild-caught, and Outback is the only place I've seen ones I'd consider buying. I've seen them elsewhere but they always looked sickly.
Here are some pictures of my male, Bam Bam. (The female is Pebbles, lol).

In an older post, you mention picking up the second snake for breeding. How's that going?
