Hello, I have a young ball python that I have had for a year and a half. She has always been a good eater and very healthy. She stopped eating about a month ago but heard that's common and didn't worry. She ate on Wednesday again and all seemed good. I was going to handle her on Sunday and she was very grumpy coming out of her tank(not like her) and when I touched her side she flinched away from me. It was strange so I left her alone. I went to take her out tonight and she is even more sensitive no matter where I touch her :S almost like it hurts her. I have no idea what coul be wrong..
Please contact if you have any ideas or advice
Thank you
Thanks for replying.
I would think he is almost ready for a shed soon but she has not gone blue yet. What I have noticed is she has turned a darker like a chocolate brown rather than the usual gold and yellow. But a shed shouldent hurt her should it?
She has always had good ones before.
No nothing could have fallen on her she has been in her hide since I fed her.
Yup, even before a snake starts to show signs of going into a blue shed cycle, they're skin becomes super sensitive. Just leave her alone and let her do her thing and wait for the shed cycle to visually show itself.
have you noticed her eyes getting cloudy and not so shiny? My BPs act jumpy when they're getting ready to shed as well because they can't see me as easily. They both seem to bump around things for a day or so right before they get ready to shed.
I have had her for over a year and when she goes in shed she is not jumpy at all. She is very brave haha that's why I'm concerned because it is very out of the ordinary for her.
Her eyes are not cloudy yet butbi would assume they turn that way soon. If not I don't know what's wrong. Although she was alot less sensitive when I checked last night
