Re: 1,000's
Linds was a former mod, post 4K-5K annually for a couple years it's easy to do.
Latin fascinates me, especially since quite a few languages including our own began there.
Chinese, wow Impressive!
Portuguese and Italian are my favourites, and I simply love the true and proper form of English, Americans have all but ruined it, removing letters and changing pronunciation. I have my spell checker set up to stop rejecting words like Colour, Flavour, Honour, Centre, etc...

Re: 1,000's
I think Gaelic and Catalan are the oldest languages that are still spoken today in their original form, almost every language is heavily bastardised over a period of time, even watching a grandparent speak to a teenager shows up how quickly language can change - two generations is more than enough. With a leap forward in technology like computing in the 80's and 90's the english language changed in one generation. It is fascinating and something i would like to delve further into of i only had the energy and an undrugged brain!! Some days english escapes me!!

Re: 1,000's
You do know I am only picking right?
I usually have 3 tabs open, all of them are the three forums I spend my time on.

Joking man, just joking with you.
Notice the use of the wink smiley, that was to clarify.

Re: 1,000's
True true... I'm sure, in a few years' time, I'll have Linds beat c:
At any rate, thanks~ A lot of people claim Chinese to be hard, but I actually found it to be relatively simple. Though, I did have issues with the accents above the letters and pronouncing them correctly. I wrote Chinese fine, though.
And yes, I do agree with you. English has been horribly maimed over the past several years...

Re: 1,000's
Actually I tested a theory, I went to my own profile and clicked refresh 35 times, the meter never advanced once.
Only one log in per 24 hours will advance it by use of cookies. If you have firefox and or/chrome you could probably advance it a couple more.
We get "crawled by web spiders" constantly, Google, NSN, Yahoo and Ask Jeeves are here all the time.

Re: 1,000's
You make more posts, so the bots follow you around more often than a quiet member.
They read the whole page, including the hidden HTML code that does not even display.
That includes the hotlink to your profile, so each time google for instance scans a page, if you have a post on that page, it also reads your profile. They do this from "server farms" buildings with racks and racks of server towers all connected to a trunk line, so cookies mean nothing, and they usually run Linux, very few sites run on window server platforms.
