us breeders
anyone breeding any snakes this year? what kind and when do they breed. i was thinkin about maybe getting a baby sometime.
at the east bay vivarium they have a lot of nice snakes, but i was looking at baby central american boas or striped central americans. i was kind of thinking of venturing in something other then boas, since i've only owned them.
let me know what you guys breed.

I've got a very pregnant Stimson's python and a pair of Savu pythons that have been locked up twice so far.

Re: us breeders
I'd love to see the classifieds section on this sight take off! Until then, check out your local reptile shows. Or, (ahem Kingsnakes classifieds, or fauna)

Re: us breeders
Hahaha, Fauna was my undoing- I bought sooo many snakes off there when I first found the website. Reptile shows are incredible, but are also dangerous. I have a hard time saying no to something once I hold it, and the vendors remember me and are always trying to get me to hold stuff, lol. My best advice is take it slow and don't overwhelm yourself. It's so easy to say "well one more snake isn't that much more work" and it isn't, but when one more becomes 5 more or 10 more, you can get ahead of yourself quickly (I did at first, until I fell into a groove with my animals and learned some restraint from buying more, lol).

Re: us breeders
I'm in Central california and currently have a gravid Suriname boa. They should be out end of Febuary or first of march. Most of them will be for sale. Pretty quick trip from eastbay. If you'd like to see the parents hit me up. But fair warning the surinames get much bigger then your typical columbian.

Re: us breeders
Surinames are beautiful snakes! They average 10-12 feet don't they? I love the deep reds their tails have. Swan, you should post some pictures for all of us to see

Re: us breeders
I'll have the wifey post pics of my collection. As for size my male well on his way to 8 feet and my female should hit 14 feet. They have a totally different muscles, look at a pic of a normal columbian and then look at the pics I post. Instead of peaking in there back they are boxy. Yeah the colors are amazing! My female indica, looks as though she got airbrushed with pink down her entire body. I'll have her post pics as soon as we get back taking her to my buddies shop for a photo shoot for his local magazine.
