shredded newspaper as substrate

i was just wondering, when i get my savannah monitor and my black and white tegu, can i use shredded newspaper as substrate. i know it will get wet alot but if i change all wet paper frequently, could it be use safely. thanx in advance

Use soil

trust me. i didnt want to fill a 75 gallon tank with 6 - 10 inches of dirt, but even putting in just 1 - 2 inches yesterday, my monitor LOVED me. He started digging away

I cant wait to add more so he can dig deeper.

Trust me soil is the way to go
