My corns Enclosure

I made the interior myself for my corn, not quite 100% finished yet as I sill want to add some decoration to it but my corn seems to like it!

You can see there's a snake cave on a ledge on the right and on the upper left, a nice big ledge in the middle which JD seems to like chilling on and another rather large hide I made on ground level as well as the gap underneath the right hide.

This is JD, the resident...

Should look nice once properly decorated!

Re: My corns Enclosure

That is the second nicest snake enclosure I've ever seen. That is one lucky corn snake.

First I measured and cut out some polystyrene to cover the back and sides...also cut out holes for the airvents.

Then made the shelves with polystyrene too, adhereing them to the walls using cocktail sticks and pva glue.

Then cut out polystyrene shapes and stuck them on in the same way and used a lighter to burn in some rocky detail.

Then I used expanding foam around the edges of the shelves and joins to adhere them properly.

After that I grouted the lot with wall tile grout, painted it with water based paints and put on a final layer of waterproof PVA to seal it!

Here's an early image of it before I grouted it!

Re: My corns Enclosure

My problem is, by the time I get done *building* a viv, I look at it and say to myself "That's good enough" and go have a beer while I try to convince myself that they live in astro turf floored boxes in the wild.

I'm building a two vivs right now, one for a tegu, and one for a water dragon. I'm not half done with *one* and I'm already looking at a tree in the front yard and wondering if I can "decorate" by cutting it down, and shoving it in.

I really admire beautiful vivs like that, but at the end of the day, I always seem to fall victim to "eh, it's good enough."

I think we all occasionally fall victim to that way of thinking, that's exactly what I think about my uni assignments "yep...good enough"
