When my snakes are in shed i mist their cages a least twice a day. This help them shed a perfect one piece shed everytime.

So a perfect shed is one where there is none left on the snake but potentially the shed skin could be ripped or bits torn off - that makes a lot of sense cos it can easilly snag on substrate and hides - its does seem farily fragile.

We have found that our cats like the shed skin!! We left it next to the viv to show off to people and the cats have nicked it and ripped it to shreds!!
