Re: Good Friday Eh! Easter Eggs Early

People don't buy eggs to incubate themselves nope.
For starters you wouldn't want to be transporting any eggs around really as it would put them at a huge risk & who would want to pay say $500 for an egg that may never hatch? Mark

Yes I tried 3 for the first time ever this year, it had only ever been 1 prior.
Pretty sure the 2nd is due to lay soon? Shes sure acting gravid anyhow & the other I have my doubts on, don't think she took. THX Mark

Re: Good Friday Eh! Easter Eggs Early

Lost a bunch as they never did start to develop anything other than mold DOH! despite starting off "perfect" looking. It happens every year & is frustrating but whatever LOL
The ones that remain are all doing very well & what was to go bad etc. already has & the nasty ones still attached are not affecting the good ones at all really.
I'm hoping for 15 for sure??? I hope anyways, maybe a couple more.
I'll have to post the pic I took here a week or 2 ago THX Mark

As you can see a few real nasty ones that couldn't be removed are still there, Mark

Re: Good Friday Eh! Easter Eggs Early

without sounding like a complete n00b, what is the purpose of the grate you have the eggs on top of? lol

Re: Good Friday Eh! Easter Eggs Early

The eggcrate is used to keep the eggs out of the incubation substrate.
That way the substrate can be kept as wet as you want it & not monitored.
If they are actually placed in it if its too wet they all go bad & if it gets too dry they all die as well.
This way you can ensure its always wet enough & they are not in direct contact with it so there are no worries.
Its pretty standard for folks to do it this way, Mark
