Tree Frog Humidity Help

So i am new to amphibians i bought myself a Red Eyed Tree Frog and have put her in an exo terra small rainforest terrarium, i am using a 50w exo terra tropical baskin bulb and have misted the tank throughly, i am using sphagnum moss substrat and have some branches and plants in the tank, but the humidity will only hover around 50 or so and i was told to keep it more around 70 can you please help? ive looked everywhere and nobody has given me any answers!!!!

Hey, I'm from Peterborough too lol. Welcome to the forum. Red eyed tree frogs are a cool amphibian. Do you have any reptiles?
I've had a White's tree frog before and I found keeping humidity in the tank to be difficult. You could try putting some plastic wrap or a damp towel over the screen top of your Exo. Careful to keep these things away from the bulb. You should have a water bowl in you tank too, get one with lots of surface area so it can help increase your humidity.
What kind of hygrometer are you using to measure humidity? Those dial ones aren't very good quality and I find take pretty inaccurate readings. Also, basking bulbs really dry out the air, although using a heat pad or something wouldn't be as efficient I don't think.

get rid of the red light and cover up most of the screen top with saran wrap or something. these guys like it cooler at around 70-80 so if you keep him in a room around these temps then taking away the bulb will be fine and will also help with humidity especially after you cover up most of the ventilation. high temps and even high humidity can be dangerous and unhealthy for the frog so avoid temps of over 85F and humidity of over 85%.

Great thanks for the help! yeah im up here in Peterborough for school at fleming, i have had leopard geckos, african fat-tailed, taken care of my girlfriends chameleons a few times, right now i have a smaller (about 4 month old) Corn snake, and the red eyed tree frog is a pet for my girlfriends father for xmas!, and yeah i have one of those dial hygrometers (pretty crappy) anywho thanks for the suggestions ill definitely try them out!

No problem, hope it does the trick for you. You can get digital hygrometers at like, Home Depot for about $10 and they take way better readings.
