I posted before about taking a friends bp to try and get it hydrated again. The little thing has eaten twice now which is not enough but is better, and a seems to be doing much better. I was was looking at her a coupla days ago and noticed two white (looked like human lice) mites ran across her head. Have not seen any since then. I've checked my BP a dozen times in fear she may have some form of mites but nothing. Any ideas. This morning (5:30am I left for work and the little one was soaking in the waterbowl. She was still there when I got home just a few minutes ago.
I am ready to go with the NIX treatment. I haven't seen any bugs since the first time but the soaking makes me very wary. Any input would be greatly apreciated.
I have never dealt with a mites problem before with my BP, however i have read some posts about "white" mites. And if i remember properly they aren't snake mites. Mites are black. I'd keep an eye out for them though and clean the whole enclosure. Might have come from something that was eaten or from a substrate?
I'm sure someone with a little more knowledge will come along soon and be much more helpful. However this is my knowledge on the topic as of now.
Hello, I very recently posted that very same question about white mites. I also found some in my BPs tank. I was assured that they were not mites. The people hear recommended I bleach EVERYTHING. (not the snake)lol I did, and I haven't seen a single pest since.
