Hey everyone, new here!

I'm new to the forum and would just like to say hey. My names Matt and im 23 years old. I have 2 redtails( male common, and female hypo harlequin), a bearded dragon, and a black and white argentine tegu.

Both my redtails are about a year and a half old and approx. 4 ft in length. The common ive raised from a hacthling and has a nice pastel tint on the sides, and the hypo i bought at the anaheim show about 6 months back where i was told 50% of her siblings were montleys, but no paper work on that just hearsay. I was thinking about trying to breed the 2 just to see what would come of it, but i have no experience with this. I dont think they are to breeding size yet, but i want to get as much info as possible, and im sure this site has plenty of it but i have some direct questions i wanted answered.

Since day one they have had seperate enclosures, and i have an extra cage that would be neutral grounds for meeting/breeding. I feed both 2 f/t medium rats a week, and nether has ever denied a meal. The male is a little bigger all around than the female as of right now and i've heard its safer for the female to be the larger of the two, is that correct? Id also like any input on temp/feeding changes for preparing the two for breeding, as well as what size the need to reach before i attempt this. I know i need to look for the "tail-lock" but is there any other signs of interest i might pick up on?

Thanks and any advice/comments is welcome!!!
Matt
