I think everyone & their dogs are already breeeding BPs as they are the "flavour of the week" for all the trendy wankers out there or those trying to get into breeding snakes for the $. Not a good investment as far as investments go, if you are planning on spending a bunch of money you had better do your homework & would be best off working with recessives as the doms prices are dropping like crazy, Mark
P.S. if you are getting into it for the fun & the hobby go hard they are a great snake with lots of morphs to choose from & create

Re: Breeding Balls
Looks like somebody pissed in Mark's corn flakes.....
Balls are still an amazing investment. You're not making the 1000% return on them as you would have been in the last few years, but still some great money to be made. Gotta love what you're doing though, or it just becomes another job.

Re: Breeding Balls
LOL not a big fan of folks who buy snakes solely for investment purposes & set their breeding standards way too low just to make the almighty buck before the market dropson their co dom or dom morphs. Something about folks breeing female BPs at 18 months & 1300g that just makes me sick to my stomach. Not to say that all morph breeders are the same of course as of course there are many worthy ones as well. Like I said & Mykee states as well do it for the fun & love of the hobby, not to pay the bills & "puppymill" them. This is actually an older thread 2006 I had BPs prior this but got out of them. I actually have a few now myself even though I'm not too big of a fan. Just got a Spider from a breeding loan her the other week. Hard not to love a cool looking baby LOL ya I'm a trendy wanker too apparrently Cheers Mark
P.S. seen a lot of folks "dump" a lot of BPs since this thread was started. Feel sorry for those folks that spent the big bucks on Spiders, Mojaves, Pastels etc. that didn't do their homework.

Re: Breeding Balls
Mark, what does that say for those of us who are snatching up all these "bottoming out" morphs being sold at rock-bottom prices to keep in their collections? Guess I'm one of the ones who doesn't know when to get out....
Gotta love seeing those little head poking out of their eggs, be they $25 heads or $10000 heads though, eh?
As far as those making a mass exodus out of the hobby; good riddance to you sirs and madams. please try not to let the big heavy door hit your dumb-asses on the way out from this great hobby. As for all your unwanted "non-investment" animals: send me an e-mail, I'll be happy to take 'em.....

Re: Breeding Balls
I am hoping to breed my three royals. I have a het pied pair and a pastel female. I love them sooo much! they are such fun snakes to own, I just wish the morphs were a little more like corn morphs, cheaper and less exculsive, because it is nice when non-pro breeders can hatch out beautiful snakes. I just love pastels and pieblads and so many other morphs. they are lovely.
But i also like that expensive animals are less likely to be neglected, since there is a monetary investment, but i guess that is not always true for some jerks... :P

Re: Breeding Balls
I think it's great that the market may be "bottoming out". Means that anyone who was and is serious about this species will keep at it. (Mykee for example)
It does mean one thing if prices kind of level out. It'll be forever before I get my albino clown!
