What's wrong with my snake???? GROSS Pics, please help!

Ok, for those that don't know, we sort of "rescued" a ball from a lady who didn't really know how to take care of him. We didn't really know either, but we are trying. He's been doing really well with us, is now eating regularly, but tonight scared the crap out of me!

He woke up at his normal time, came out and passed his normal pee (the white stuff?) in his water. (LOVES to piss inthe water!) Anyway, he climbed down out of the water, but looked like we was still straining! It looked like he was turning his entire rectum inside out. Very gross, but I've seen him do it before, I thought it was normal. Well, then all of a sudden I see BLOOD! and it looks like there is a dark bloody mass coming out of his hole. Sorry this is graphic, but here are the pics:

Him straining:

The mass:

The blood streak he left:

He did all this literally about 10 minutes ago. Now he has crawled back into his hide and is just sitting there. What do I do? What in goodness sake IS THAT THING? Is it a poop? This can't be normal. There are no reptile vets anywhere near here (there is probably one 2.5 hours away in Atlanta.)

I have taken the mass out, incase he tried to eat it, or something......Ew, please help!

Anyone? He's still alive this morning, I'm guessing it was just a poop. But blood in poop is never normal, no matter what the animal. What can I do to prevent it from happening again? Was he just constipated? We have had him about a month. Is it normal for them to turn their booties almost inside out when they "go?"

I may sound stupid to you guys, but please, someone help me get a little less stupid!

looks like a prolapse to me. He needs medical attention right away. Try to keep it moist so it doesnt dry up if its not to late already. What ever you do be very carefull with him and try not to move him or the prolapse.Use a sterile cloth and some warm water.

A vet is the only thing i can recommend.
sorry you have to go through this.

good luck with him

I agree that medical attention is definetly required. It is possible that the snake was constipated but take it to the vet to be on the safe side.
