Rainbow Boas are larger and can cause slightly more damage if it bites you......A Ball Python or a Cornsnake or Kingsnake would probably be a better choice. IMO
Personally, I think that a BRB is a perfectly reasonable second snake, provided that you do your reading and are prepared to provide the proper husbandry for a snake that whose needs are more demanding, in particular, high humidity. As for the biting, like many snakes, regular handling will calm it down. In my experience, the are pretty docile except as babies.
