Paint Melamine?

Hey i got a couple white melamine cages that id rather paint black and make a few stencils on so they look better...is there a good way to paint melamine or does the outer coating not bond well with paint?

Thanx,
Jawz

I have melamine that's been painted with epoxy and has worked just fine, before the epoxy, I had latex paint on it, and it worked as well.

If its on the outside of the enclosure you can try spraypaint, just make sure it has a few washes to try and rid of the smell first.

Any paint at all, even spray paint if you spray far enough away.

I'd avoid latex or oil-based paints. They can offgas for months, especially when exposed to heat. If you want the paint to bond properly, sand down the surface first.
