looking to make a new cage for my male bci..is 4x2x2 good enough size?

you should probably shoot for larger then that i believe.

A cage that is 4x2x2' is fine. I have all my females in cages that size. My males are in rubbermaids that are 3'x18"x7". So do not be worried, just use this rule of thumb, the length of the cage only has to be half the snakes length.
