When heating your tank, to get the required 34deg.c (95deg.f) do you use the combo of lamp (spot or otherwise) and heat pad in a wooden enclosure?

I'm asking in prep. for design of my soon to be made viv.

hi striko.
i keep mine in wooden vivs. i used to use a heat lamp and heat mat combo but he used to burrow down in the substrtate so i stopped using the mat. i find that the lamp is perfect provided you use a guard and provide a humid hide box as the lamp dries the air. you definately need a thermostat as well. i keep my hot side at 92 and the cool side at 82. hope this helps.

Hi Striko.

If i where you i would make a wooden cage.Because it keeps the warmt longer insite your cage.And i think snakes feel more save in a wooden cage.I used both lamp and heatpad.
