maybe someone in cali can help this lady..
this was posted on another board. i just wanted to popst it here to see if there is someone with advice or an outdoor spot to give her.. if so.. email her.. thank you..
I found this ad yesterday on Craigslist.org for Santa Barbara, CA. It made me a bit sick to think of someone keeping all the eggs in a clutch and that she was obviously wasn't prepared to care for them....but maybe someone can help her.
I recently had to move from my home on very short notice. My spiteful x-boyfriend moved out and sabotaged my chance to remain in the house where we lived. I have no place to live, and while I am capable of surviving by staying in hotels and even in my car in the meantime, I am in desperation caring for my babies. They are the sweetest animals, and their health is deteriorating rapidly, especially since they spent most of the last three days in my jeep with me, stacked in animal carriers, while we drove all over the place only to find that there seems to be no place for me to stay with them. They are all the offspring of my two adults, and when my girl had laid her eggs, I was indeed very reluctant to allow them to incubate and hatch, but my boyfriend was so excited and took over until they hatched. Then, after about two weeks, he of course lost interest and I grew very attached to them. When they had reached the age at which I felt comfortable with finding them new homes, they suddenly became quite ill with a very common parasitic condition, which I treated right away. The medication I gave them caused them to stop eating entirely, and so I have been hand-feeding most of them ever since, thus preventing any adoption efforts (who wants a reptile that they have to feed with a syringe?). So now, here I am, having been stabbed in the back by my malicious cheating x, and caring for thirty growing bearded dragons, who, on top of having no place to live, also require hand-feeding by me every day. My entire day revolves around them, and while that was fine by me so long as they were growing and healthy, it now seems my sacrifices and efforts have gone to waste, as they look terrible and I am all alone in trying to keep them alive. I am asking, no, begging, pleading, crying out for help, to anyone with a yard, a patio, something - some area where I can place their cage and have access to them on a flexible time schedule. Of course, if someone wants to adopt them, I can handle that too, so long as I am absolutely sure that they will receive as much love as they deserve. As for their caging, I have many cages of various sizes and can work with a particular space. I would prefer to see them outdoors in some sunlight, though it is not necessary, but it does cut down on their lighting equipment and the sun is the greatest remedy for a sick bearded dragon.I have all their supplies and extra, and I can feed them or supply food to someone else to feed them - anything will do, really, they just need some stability - a place to stay until I figure out what to do. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, or can think of anyone who might be able to help, please let me know - I am terrified that the weaker babies may not last like this much longer. I will compensate any person who can house them on their property in their own cage or another, $500.00 per month (cash) that they reside at their residence(it shouldn't be more than one month). Their care will require some access to electricity for heating purposes, and keep in mind that there are insects I must feed to them, so if crickets or mealworms are frightening to you, it may not work out so well. They are awesome animals and they never ever bite and they love people. I have fallen in love with the species in the last two years, and it is breaking my heart to see them suffer; their little faces just looking up at me as if to say, "why is this happening?". I can be reached at 805-886-4448 (speak to bryan), 805-717-9523 (speak to cheryl), or, email me at sappy805@aol.com, and dragonpants2324@yahoo.com. Please do not hesitate to give me any suggestion or comment in regards to this matter - anything might be of help and I will genuinely appreciate it. My name is Cheryl. Thankyou for reading a bit about my personal tragedy.
