Worried about eggs- Help!!

Last night the first egg of my second clutch started hatching. The egg broke open at one end, stuff kinda oozed out, all seemed normal. Well, 27 hours later the baby still hasn't come out. I'm seriously worried because the first clutch happened so quickly! The egg dented, broke open and viola! babies. I didn't want to touch it or disturb it in any way, but is this normal? Like labor, it can last different amounts of time for each one? I don't want to lose a baby, but if you think I already have, please tell me. I hope I'm worried for nothing, but a little help would be nice.

In my past experiences after the babie slices the egg open they came out within 24 hrs but i've heard of some taking longer. They eat the yolk inside the egg before they come out so if there is still yolk in the egg he still might be alive. If the egg looks dried up already i'm afraid he might be gone already.

He may be still absorbing the yolk sac. If you were to assist him out of the egg you may injure him. If he cannot make it out of the egg on his own, then he probably is too weak to survive even if you were to help him out. Give him more time, if he's not out in a couple more days it wasn't meant to be.

In the past I have helped Dragons out of eggs... Sometime the yolk dried on parts of their body and they couldn't get out of the shell. I used some warm water and rubbed the yolk off their legs or arms. They then came out of the shell fine.

I found the majority of the Dragons I helped were all too weak to look after themselves and took major punishment from the rest of the clutch. Other bit toes or tails off, or the Dragons just didn't eat properly and were uthinized later down the road due to them not eating anymore and slowly starving to death.

I guess the moral is, if they cant make it out on their own, don't help. It will only prolong the fact of them dying slowly. I found it hard to let them die on my second clutch, but all that I raised were very healthy.

Its just from my oppinion though.
