new beardie cage

what would be the best material to build a cage for my beardie. im gonna make it 4 feet long 2 and a half feet tall and 2 feet wide. im looking to do it inexpensively but i want it to be done right. any help would be great

The best and cheepest would be melamine. You could also use sealed plywood.

Why 2.5' high? Mine is 2' high and wish it was shorter. It's tough to get the uvb tube low enough to be effective.

so whats a good height for a beardie's cage then? cause i am building one, i was gonna make it 2 feet high, but i just realized what you said about the lighting..

if it is taller, you can make a shelf with ramps, to increase surface space, give them more room. this is how my females had it.
