Non-cricket diet?

Is there any species of Monitor that can go without crickets completely, even as a baby?

I'm sure you can replace the crickets with silk worms an/or other insects like butter worms which have a high calcium ratio. Be sure to feed more than just insects, most monitors need more protein than insects can give.

You can feed sea food mix, cut up chicken giblits (since they'd be to big for a baby) and pinky rats or mice. The rats or mice should make up the bulk of the diet.

mice, hopper mice.. an exclusive diet of pinkies wouldnt be all that great for a baby lizard of any species as they're nothing but balls of fat. Superworms are a good supplement to add to the pinky mice. As the animal grows you won't require crickets anymore (i'am talking about savannahs, albigs, niles etc) A pure rodent diet is sufficient.
