Reptiles - full or part time?
EVERYONE:
I was thinking this out loud today with friends and family who came over today for dinner. My buddy asked me the future of reptiles in general and do people really make any money at it. I told him actually there are alot of people in North America and Worldwide who do. Told him lots of breeders make some decent coin as well as rather large sums. I showed him names I know of in North America on the internet and he was rather surprised on some prices, websites, and how popular reptiles are as pets and much more to people.
In all, I thought about this to ask you all that breed or supply reptiles in the North America or Worldwide markets.
No need to tell us the jobs or circumstances just is this full or part time to you.
Question:
Is this something you do full time (no other job or retired or personal circumstances, just the animals are your full focus) or part time (and yes you have a day or night job)?
Thanks for sharing.
Tony

I'm just getting started but for the forseeable future it's definitely just going to be a part time gig for me. If I manage to be able to pay for my animals with my animals i'll consider that a success
It'd be great to make a living at it though... Maybe one day

Lets see, currently a SAHM (stay at home mom) so all I do is take care of the snakes so does that make it full time? LOL, I have no forseeable plans for a career other than having my snakes but I'm not really concerned about it make a pile of money, that'll just be a bonus.

Right now it's full time but I'm starting another job next week so then it will be pushed to part time untill I start possibly breeding on a large scale in the future but I will never be one to work with WC animals as a middle man to make a buck.

Part-time. Hobby, that I hope to make some money at which will just be thrown back into my many animal hobbies!
Currently a student, and I hope to get a job, and keep reptiles(and other animals) and have a feeder supply business, so I hope to be doing quadruple time!(When will I sleep? I guess I wont, lol)
