Pastel Colors

How much does a Males color/pattern affect his offspring? And does the females color matter if she's a normal?

As in, the male Pastel has less than stellar coloring. Will his offspring carry that? Or is it a Crapshoot? And what if the Female has amazing colors, but no real genetic trait other than being naturally good looking?

Thanks

*Edited for spelling* - too much wine last night

Shawn, from my experiences I've seen great looking male pastels throw average babies and stellar babies, as well as vice versa. I've had pastel babies from a normal to pastel breeding where the four pastels in one clutch had some screamers, and some average-looking pastels. To be honest though, even an "ugly" pastel is a good lookin' snake. Below are two pics of the pastels that I produced last year. First pic is of four "normal" pastels, and second pic is of the four pastel het albinos. All pics were taken when balls were under one month old they still had a lot of colouring up to do). I'll try to post some recent pics of them soon. Enjoy:

And here are two pics of these guys now: First pic is of the two female holdbacks (360g and 585g):

And the two male pastels het for albino holdbacks (620g and 275g):

Thanks guys. Lagoon, I have not bred any of these guys, I currently have all my females accounted for and breeding, and my female albino is not of breeding size yet (the male pastel het albino gets her).
