leos on stone???
is it ok to put leos on slate stone if there is no chance of injury.... everything will be properly succured..... i like the look of stone compared to sand and that way i can construct a bunch of hides rather than just a coupple... ive seen them on stone but is it ok to do so....
im aware of cleaning and stuff so thats not a prob.. i wiling to step up....

I've seen a lot of leos living on slate with no problems at all. A few of mine live on slightly rough textured ceramic tiles which work too. I find it's easy to clean the tile and slate and an added bonus is that they retain some heat making it a more natural way for the leos to absorb some belly heat.

how do you clean the stone? I mean, doesn't the feces get between the stones and make it hard to clean?
I like teh look of it too but have stayed away incase it was difficult to keep clean.

it shouldnt be to bad... they do only poop in one area so just make sure you can lift the stones around that area.... thats what im gonna do.... im also prob gonna get one of thoes steam cleaners to cleen it with

All my breeder tanks are done with slate tile. Completely natural, looks fantastic, retains heat. The tiles rest flat on the bottom, not secured in any way... just lift them out to clean. Scrub em with soap and water, bleach (10%) soak for 15-20 min, rinse well, neutralize with vinegar spray, rinse and dry well... off and running, no odor,no residue. I vacume between cleanings. You can also just remove the "poopy" corner tile. For some reason i still can't justify... the vacume noise has never bothered a single leo or fattie. Go figure. I use DragnDrip's hot hide setup... a UTH sandwiched between two tiles. Heaven. Hide underneath, or lounge on top  HomeDepot will cut tiles to fit if necessary. The tiles are 12" square. Only drawback... the weight of the tank increases substantially.

I have been interested in using tile in my leopards tank....
Do you guys find that poo or urates slip through the cracks ever?

Yup. So, a few changes. You have the option of "filling" the cracks between tiles with a fine grade of sand (this is not vacume friendly ), but it does maintain "perfect" spacing for those amongst us who acutally look at the asthetics (myself included), or, what i do now that i'm over it,  is to push the slate tiles firmly together... placing any "left over" space to the front of the tank, and to the (rt) side. This is the crevice i vacume. Takes seconds. Still, little falls down the crack... most deposits are above board so to speak....

thats an awsome setup.. but whats a dragondrip's hot hide setup and Heaven hide.... i dont understand.... i really like the setup though

Those aren't hide "types" LOL She meant DragonDrop gave her a good idea for a hiding spot, and her leopards think it's heaven.
