Now I've read that males beards go black as they start to mature, now my little guy/girl is about 6 or 7 inches long and it's throat has some black comming in. Does this mean it's a boy?

Ok then what is the best way to sex it? and at what size does sex become decernable?

look for bulges at the base of the tail. Surf around teh site, i am certain comparative pictures have been posted of the area for both males and females.

I think the six inches is refering to total length.

The breeder of my dragons said it is possible to determine the sex within a couple days of birth. However, I do not think I would be able to do so. The larger the better and as this site suggests, 6 inches is probably a good minimum. At 12 inches total the difference is very visible.
