larger snake info...

Hi, I'm thinking of getting one larger snake for my collection. The largerst I have now is my bp. But I'd like something that would fall in the 6-9 foot area that would be not too heavy for me to take on alone as hubby is extremely terrified of them and that would be fairly docile to be around children on occasion (with supervison of course) and not much worry about them being struck at. I realize many snakes have their own personality but some are in general more docile and easy going than others. What snakes fall in this catagory. I was thinking of boas or pythons. I really love the BRB but I heard thay can be a bit skittish and nervous, is that true? Any other suggestions would be great. Doesn't have to reach the 9 foot length but something a bit bigger than my bp and somewhat as calm and friendly, and maybe with a better appitite. lol. Also I'd preffer not too arboreal to help with cage space but if it's a nice enough snake I'm willing to set up a nice arboreal cage.

This will be a future purchase and I want to build the cage when I'm working on my new cages and expansion. All my cages are build 1.5 feet wide but I can go from small right up to 6 feet long by 5 1/2 feet high if need be.

Oh this is a perfect opportunity to grab a Jungle carpet python... (around 6 feet) or if you want bigger.. a costal carpet python... (around 10 feet)

They're GREAT snakes!

Thats exactly what I was thinking.

You could also go with a good ol' fashion columbian boa, or if you wanted something a little nicer, one of the guyana/surinam/etc. boa's. They all meet exactly what your looking for.

Id go for a jungle though, they're great!
